Sound Idea was our interactive soundscape garden at the RHS Tatton show in 2013. It won a silver medal and was awarded 'best garden' in its category.
It re-used the artwork by Martin Bush from The Singing Tree garden, but differed in other ways, including the soundscape which was created specifically for Tatton. The focal point was a wooden sound wall fitted with sensors, and we also used the Pulse sculpture.
More information on the garden can be found at August Garden Designs.
It used the same Bose sound system as The Singing Tree.
An extract from the soundscape can be played using the controls on the right of the screen. At the show the music was created using our software engine in real-time, in other words the software knew how to play, and was provided with a few hints, but wasn't told what to play.
